REGIER TAKES MADERA SPEEDWAYS FINAL HARVEST
|
San Martin, CA (September 24th) The nationally
sanctioned Western States Supermodified Racing League brought wheel to fender
action to Maderas record crowd with Go Fast Sports Drinks harvested
the excitement of WSSRL drivers and speedway fans at the 35th Annual Harvest
Classic 100. Troy Regier raced the field of fifteen supermodofeds in twin
50 lap main events. |
Though Regier is WSSRLs defending champion, he never
expects automatic victory. You never know if youre going win,
Regier said. Anything can happen, the car could break down. In
his heat, the youthful AJ Russell piloted to victory ahead of Reiger. In
the doubleheader, Regier had to come from behind to win. In the second race,
he had to pass Rick Veenstra, who led for the first 10 laps. Once Regier
passed Veenstra, he stayed ahead until the finish line. Veenstra got caught
in congestion from other cars, which allowed Regier to pass. Regeir was followed
closely by Rookie of the Year contender, Martin McKeefery in
the green Ridler, Dale Lambborn, Kirk Wartman and Ernie Coppo.
The 100 lap event brought excitement to the fans of Madera for possibly the
final time. |
